Our New Flower Bed...

...Kinda took on a life of its own. Actually, we had a beautiful sugar maple tree that had begun to die out and it was dangerously close to the house. Hubby cut it down, stacked up some fire wood, and then we covered the stump with a flower bed of course. As always, there is more work to do and it has a lot of growing in to do - but I like it. Anytime you end up with more space to plant flowers - sounds like a winner to me. (I do miss my pretty tree though.)

In this bed you will find an endless summer hydrangea, three blue princess hollys, three dwarf firepower nandinas, an alberta spruce, three red knockout roses, kong coleus, pink baby wing begonias, talinum and 24, oh my, wave petunias!!

Hope your flowers are growing beautifully!

Happy Plantin' friends!

Wow, it looks like you may have connections with a garden shop! I hope you post the flower bed again in a few months. I love to see before and afters. It looks beautiful now.

I am with Tammy - driving ever so slowly by your house - NO WAIT! Hubby is driving and I am sticking my neck out the window to get a better look and I like what I see!

You girls are funny - and so kind. We do not have anything fancy, just love getting our hands dirty and watching pretty flowers grow. Stop by anytime! Cathy

That is beautiful. I'm jealous I don't have a knack for such. I always admire everyone's hardwork and I feel like a loser for being so lazy!!! That's why I visit often, your hard work is truly appreciated by me!!

Just Beautiful!!! I love to add flowers to areas that didn't have any...what a difference! I have a question about hydrangeas, do they have to be in the shade? I was told they do. I would love to have one, but I am not sure I have enough shade for one. Your flowers are beautiful, thanks for sharing. Nancy

I am fortunate--I drive by Cathy Cobblestone's house and shop quite often, but I also stop and shop quite often. It is so beautiful there. Sometimes I feel like I could stop and just sit in her screened in porch for a while to unwind. Hope you all get the chance to stop by sometime.
