The Joy of Helping Others

Sometimes it is just the lil' things that make some one's day - whether it is a smile, a good deed, a kind word. I have been on the receiving end of many of these things and my life has been richly blessed by kindness shown to me over the years. Being in business for several years now, I have learned so much more than "making a living" - I've experienced the true joy in "making a living loving what you do" and being blessed by those who keep you in business.

I've been able to come in contact with countless of kind and extremely gifted people over the years - many of which who do a lil' piddlin' on the sides in making their own treasures. Talented craftsman, seamstresses, painters, the list goes on and on. I just wanted to take the opportunity to recognize a couple of people who have touched my life in a positive way. I have been blessed in my lil' blogging venture to have some faithful readers and I just thought I'd share with you all their talent and bring attention to them as "artists" and as wonderful people. Please, take time to check them out - they are listed in my favorites: Ada's Adorable Aprons and Ribbons-n-Rags. Thank You!

"He who, forgetting self, makes the object of his life service, helpfulness and kindness to others, finds his whole nature growing and expanding, himself becoming large-hearted, magnanimous, kind, sympathetic, joyous, and happy; his life becoming rich and beautiful." - Ralph Waldo Trine

Cathy, How very kind and considerate of you--just like you always are. It has been a pleasure knowing and working with you these last few years. You've have gotten me to do things I probably wouldn't have tackled otherwise (and I'm glad I did)!! You know I think you have the best shop in the country!!! God bless you, your family and your shop. Ada Mae

Cathy, you are so right about helping others and scattering kindness...
It doesn't even have to be huge sweeping gestures it can just be little kind, sweet things Ü
And the best part is that it feels so good to help someone...
In fact, often I think I feel better than the other person! Ü

Wish I lived closer I would love to come to your farm and I am sure that I would have to take home several darling treasures!

Have a blessed day!

Cathy,
You are undoubtedly one of the kindest and most generous people that I have ever met. I am glad that God put you in my path. You are such an inspiration to me and to all people that know you. Thank you for showcasing my outfits in your shop and on your blog.

What pretty things! Hope you are enjoying spring -- all the daffodils are in bloom here, and the lilacs and crabs are budding. I just love this time of year. And I love your thought about 'scattering kindness' -- like scattering seeds -- yielding beauty.
