Bragging on Daddy Today!

Well, I have to say it is a joy to be able to brag on my family all the time! I love them all so much and they are all so talented in their own way. But today, I'm bragging on Dad. I guess I've always been a Daddy's girl but the older I get I treasure him more and more. Ever since I was a lil' girl, he always taught us (Sis and I) to be able to do for ourselves. He would always try and fix something before he would have it hired done - and there wasn't much he couldn't do if he tried. He has always had a sincere appreciation for the simple things in life and he so enjoys the quiet and peaceful days of his recent retirement.

He has always been gifted with his hands - and later in life he became interested in blacksmithing and not to my surprise, he is mastering that as well. Unfortunately, shortly after retirement, he fell twice in the same week - tearing muscles in both shoulders - one on each fall. He is recovering from one surgery with another in the future - but as for now, he is slowly being able to do his favorite hobby again.

What you see in the pictures are his design and we call them the "flower pot lift". One is staked and goes directly into the ground and holds a bucket of your choice. I simply put a galvanized one in mine and change the flowers from season to season. They are also really neat if you fill the bucket with sand, place a candle and hurricane globe in sand and line a sidewalk or use to line an isle way at an outdoor wedding. So many possibilities!! The second one is for a planter which has a disc on the bottom and can easily fit into flower pots making it the perfect topiary stand. You can see I placed my ferns on top and planted my containers. The cutest thing though is putting a big pumpkin in the top during fall and filling in around the bottom with all kinds of gourds and harvest goods.

Well, I think I have gone on enough - just proud of him, that's all. Flower Lifts and Concrete Planters available at Cobblestone. Stop in and see us!

Happy Planting!! Cathy Cobblestone

Hi Cathy,
I think its sweet that you bragged on your daddy - as they are very special. I was a late in life baby and shared my Daddy alone.

Since I am much older, I envy you that you still have your Daddy. Give him a hug for me and tell him he has created a special item we can all use.

Do you have any idea when your online shop will be opened?

Hugs,
Connie

I love these! It's just what I need for those pesky pots at my client's front door -- the concrete pot has very little root-room, and I need something to lift the plant up in the air, to give the right height and oomph!

I certainly will look for something similar around here. Sure wish I could get them from you + your daddy!
