A lil' trash to treasure...

...Oh I hope my sweet friend, Julie, doesn't mind me saying that. But if I'm not mistaken she found these old cardboard prints in an old house left by the previous owners. Now, she is turning this "house" into a beautiful "home" for her precious family and all her girls. So, she had a vision and asked "Would you please make these into signs for my twin girls?"

So, here we go - our lil' trash to treasure project.
Now, tell me - would you have kept these or put them in the burn pile? Be honest!!!

Nothing a lil' paint...

...a lil' paper...

...and a cricut can't fix..

Pretty in pink and chocolate brown to match their new room.

I think they are going over each window in the room.

Enjoy your beautiful new home!!

So not bad for a freebie!!!

Happy Creating Everybody!
Cathy

Please never stop sharing your creativity with the blogging world. It is a joy to see how you take old and make it new. Those frames look so beautiful!! You should write a book.

How adorable! I like what you did with those. I probably would have kept them. But I wouldn't have been nearly as creative as you were! Great ideas!

Those turned out great! The pic you used were wallart from the
60's that were given away at grocery stores as premiums.
Now my question I see the machine, but what exactly does a Cricut do?
I know..... I know... I'm stuck here in the flower shop. I must not get out much.

Very cool!!!!

Hi girls - so glad you liked the lil' signs. Thanks Melody for the history on the prints - that was interesting. To answer a few of your alls questions - Kristina I used modge podge to adhere the letters. Melody - a cricut is jus' the neatest machine - cuts out all kinds of cool designs and it is sooooo easy to use. Kim - you must get a cricut if you like to craft at all. I'm not a scrapbooker but I'm finding it is great for many things. You can even cut out material for quilt squares.

Thank you all for your sweet kind comments - they truly make my day!!!! And I say anybody can do it - after all, I'm learning from you all every day!

Blessings, Cathy

Hi Cathy,
So very creative you are!. How cute are these name signs. One of my Daughters best friends is expecting twin girls and what a great gift something like this would make.
I might try my hand and copy your idea, but right now I am knitting and crocheting blankets and hats.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Elizabeth

Hey Cathy the plate on the website in the one of a kind section is that avaliable in your store?

Cathy Cobblestone said...

Hi Sam - you asked about the plate - no, I sold it a long time ago. I'm so sorry - I do not have access to my website - but I'm working on that. Someone was kind enough to set it up for me but I can't update it like it needs it. It totally needs a "do-over". But I appreciate you looking and I'll try and get on top of things. So sorry - I peeked in at your blog and I love your background - that's really cute. Hope you are doing well. Blessings, Cathy
