"What's In Store" Wednesday...

...You all thought I'd forgotten, didn't you. Well, I haven't - it's just been a lil' crazy around here and I'm just now getting to it. So sorry. Thought I'd share with you some great new flags that just arrived yesterday - they are so cute - and they are proudly made in the USA.

Bright hot pink and lime green "monogram" flags...

...elegant chocolate brown and blue initials also available.

This is a large flag with pretty red geraniums in an old pitcher - I love this one.

Here you will see geraniums in a small flag, a large one and a coordinating floor mat - perfect way to pull your porch together.

And lastly another door mat - a great way to say "Welcome".

That's just a few pics to give you an idea of what you might find this week.

Check back again to see "What's in store" for next Wednesday!

Have a great day everybody!

Welcome to our Greenhouse!

oops - you might want to turn off the music down on the bottom right - makes it a lil' bit easier to hear ;)
Hope you enjoyed a lil' peek into Cobblestone Farms Greenhouse. I know it is absolutely nothing fancy but we are proud of our lil' place. Now there is some more I didn't show you plus a lot of things I wish I had done already - but there are only so many hours in the day my friends. (We could all use a few more hours, couldn't we?)
So this week I'm totally focused on sweet container gardens especially unique ones for Mothers Day. Wish me luck - there is lots to do!!
And like I always say - Happy Planting!!!
Have a great day! Cathy

It's a Fantastic Friday!!!

It's gonna be 86 degrees here today so I'm preparing myself to hopefully see lots of people stirring in our greenhouses today. I'd say there will be veggie shoppers and definitely those looking for blooms to plant on this splendid weekend we are gonna have here.

I took this picture early this morning as the sun was beginning to peek through under the porch at the greenhouse. It's an old green metal drawer of some sort that I found out junking. Thought it would be perfect for flowers - even had holes already in the bottom of it - PERFECT. So it is filled with lavender bacapo, fuchsia begonia, shocking pink geranium, blue arrows grass, neon pink trailing verbena and a few dianthus tucked in. Course, it has a lot of "growing in" to do but I'm sure it will be pretty when it gets going.

Remember how I'm always saying to "think outside of the pot."

I'm wishing you all a beautiful, blessed and happy weekend!

"Cockle Doodle Doo - Lamp Redo"

Hi Friends - hope you all are doing well. In between watering the flowers in the greenhouses, mowing the yard, pricing candles and transplanting cucumbers, squash and watermelon - I accomplished a lil' redo project today - thought I'd share it with you.

I bought this lamp - it was already cute - but it needed some attention.

It did not have a shade - jus' a rusty ole' harp...

The base was chipped and loose...

I had a new red shade that I put polka-dots on (imagine that)...

I added some red, green and gold to the rooster. I painted the base black, distressed it and added some varnish. I tightened it up so it was nice and sturdy too.

And ta-da - That lil' rooster is standing proud. I love this weather vane lamp - and I'm gonna have to restrain myself from keeping it. So for now - it's in the shop.

So this is my first post of a lil' something I'm gonna try and start - it's "What's in "store" Wednesday. I'll try and give you a sneak peek into something special at the shop each Wednesday. Now approaching the busiest season of the year for us - I'm probably making you a promise that's gonna be hard to keep - but I'll give it my best - promise!!!

Wishing you a blessed Wednesday!
Cathy

You all had such nice comments about this - thank you so much - a lot of people called and e-mailed from out of state wanting it - I was so surprised. But I sold it to the first one to call which happened to be my great local friend, Donna. Early bird gets the worm I guess. Glad you all liked it!!!!

Hope you all have a beautiful start to your week and I'll keep you posted on Mom.

Many sweet blessings to you all,
Cathy

A Bucket of "Belles"...

..."Belles of Ireland" that is. This is one of my favorite "flowers" even though I'm not sure that they are flowers - Let's call it greenery. I got to bring a few home after the wedding and I jus' love them. They are tall, graceful, sculptural and unique.

And they are perfect in my big enamel pot that my sweet momma gifted me about a year ago. She said, "Sissy, I had to get this for you - it looks jus' like you!" And she was right - it is so me.

Hope you all have a beautiful day - and you can grow these wonderful plants in your cutting garden - try them out this year!!!

Morgan's Special Day

Oh what a beautiful Saturday it was for my sweet friend, Morgan. She was a stunning bride and her smile lit up the place because she and her new husband were so very happy. I'd been telling you all last week that I had been working on a wedding - I guess I should have said a wedding reception. You see, Morgan got married at one church and her reception was at another. And even though I didn't get to go to the wedding ceremony - I know it was gorgeous 'cause my dear friend Nell did the decorations there and she is one talented lady. I hated to miss the union but I stayed back to help get ready for all the well-wishers who attended the reception. So I'm gonna show you a lil' slide show - thought you might enjoy it. And I'm gonna give you a brief breakdown so you can understand some of the things you might see - like the pumpkin for instance.

*Morgan, a teacher, meets Jonathan, a pumpkin farmer
*They fall madly in love
*Jonathan proposes by having Morgan pick a carved pumpkin from the patch - "Will you Marry me?"
*Of course, she said yes!
*The wedding journey begins
*A Lemonade stand was made by her kind dad - it was a sweet tribute from Morgan to her late mother
*Many many many people gathered to celebrate the joining of these two people

- What a blessed, beautiful and extraordinarily happy day - for everyone involved
.

Aunt Di, Beverly, Margie, Kathy, Amy, Jeremy, Christina, Fanola, Ann, Lizzie, Nell, Penny,Philip, Morgan and Jonathan - Thanks for including me - I so enjoyed the day and the friendship we all shared!!

Happy Friday Friends!!!

Oh I know I've let you guys down this week - I've jus' been a really busy girl!!! Helping decorate for a wedding this weekend - so I've had lots and lots of projects. I'll share pictures with you next week.

But in the meantime - I'm wishing you a happy Friday and a blessed weekend. And speaking of Fridays - won't be long we'll be introducing our "Fresh Flower Fridays".

This is something I've wanted to do for a long time - I'll have a lil' roadside stand with freshly arranged flowers from my cutting garden - jus' waiting to find a home - ready to liven up a table for Sunday dinner, to place by your bedside or better yet - maybe deliver to someone special. Everything will be in mason jars tied with pretty ribbons - Oh I can jus' see it now - I've even got a special cart!!! Oh sometimes I wish my mind would slow down a bit!

So in closing - I'm reminding you of a lil' project from last year - that water hose garden wreath. While you are doing some spring cleaning around the house and in the potting shed - don't discard that leaky hose - make something special out of it!

You'll need an old hose, maybe a rusty garden tool, a lil' bucket, some tattered gloves, some flowers if you'd like - and there you go - the perfect "recycled" wreath for the outside of your home or building.

Have a happy weekend friends,
Cathy
