A touch of Yellow & a lot of Cheer...

On Tuesday - spring officially arrives and I'm so excited about that.  Today was gloomy, rainy and we didn't see the sun at all - so I thought I'd bring in my own sunshine.

It all started with this lemon pitcher and a platter that my sweet mamaw gave me for my birthday recently.  So I was bound and determined to bring the sunshine in today with a few yellow things I already had. So here we go...

A yellow owl - and some lemons and pears...

A frame I've had forever with my lil' man who is not so little anymore ;-(

Of course, I kept all my green goodies - which I have to say is probably my favorite color (for now anyway).  In the corner cabinet - a green soup tureen from my sister and the green kitchen scale was a gift from my mom.

For some reason - I have a hard time moving my blue "Ball" jars - I just love them so much - they usually stay right where they are.

The shelves are probably one of my favorite things in our home - it's just a fun place to put things that make me happy.

The grass is starting to green up out the front window...

A full shot...

...the "right" side...

...over on the "left" side of the kitchen -  the mantle that I love - Now I need to find a yellow cushion for my chair...

...Looking down from the table - I still haven't found the right chairs - but I will...someday.

I know I've shown you all my kitchen before - hope you don't mind.  It's just a happy place for me.

One of the things I like to purchase when I find them - is quirky pictures of barns or sheds.  I love the ones that look like paint by number - I have one for just about every season.  Sometime I'll share them all with you.  This one I picked up for $2.00 at the Mission Store - it was a perfect match for our home.

...an old kitchen cabinet...

Another gift from my papaw - was this table he made from an old door and left over fence posts - it's simple - but I love it...

It's a perfect fit over there in the corner.  As you can see those barn doors are STILL not painted - that is another "someday" project!

I hope you have a great start to spring!
Bring on the Sunshine and the Flowers - I'm ready - are you?

Your kitchen looks beautiful! I love the canning jars and think they look great with the yellow!
My daughter is getting married this summer and yellow is one of her colors so I'm on the hunt for yellow things! Love the frame, and the lemons in the jar...should have picked some up this week and done that too!
I love yellow, but tend to have so much red and cream that it's hard to add a new color...you're inspiring me though!

We were in the low 80's on Friday and then it got wet and yucky!

Such a lovely, lovely room, and full of inspiration for my soon-to-be-built new home. Remind me of your wall color? I'm wanting something that will look great with all vintage colors, like yours does :)

I know I've told you this before but I LOVE your shelves, I think the thick bold brackets just make it! That wooden mantel is lovely. I have spot for one, I just gotta find the right mantel (at a good price ;-)
It all looks great!

I am new to your blog. Your kitchen is so bright and beautiful. Every housekeeper should have their dream kitchen since we spend so much of our time in it. I love all the room & open flow. I just have not figured out how to have my kitchen grow. Would love to have an island in mine. Your chairs look great with your table but if you must have change the chair in front of your mantel is stunning by chance you have two they would look great at each end of your table. Your kitchen looks like a magazine spread. Blessings! Lara

Thank you all so much for "loving" on my kitchen - I'm glad you like it. Lara - I love your idea about using my wicker chairs at the table - and yes I do have two - but the arms will not fit under the table so it makes it uncomfortable to sit away from the table. I actually bought those chairs just for that reason. But I loved your idea and I thank you for your kind words.

I hope you see this "Campbell Crew" - thank you for your kind comments on my kitchen. I really appreciate it. The color of the kitchen is "Rainwashed" by Shermin Williams - hope this helps!
