...there are those people who touch your life and you will never forget. Over the weekend, one of most faithful customers but most importantly, one of the sweetest ladies ever, went on home to be with the Lord. She was kind and giving and gave the best hugs. She never left or hung up the phone that she didn't say "Now, you know I love ya."
She might have loved flowers more than me and she could hardly wait to get to the greenhouse each spring. And many times, she'd come out jus' to cut zinnias from my garden. I was always happy to share because that was her favorite.
So in memory of sweet Miss Till, I will think of her every time I see a flower bloom. And I will plant angel wing begonias (her 2nd favorite) jus' simply to be reminded of her this year.
But then again, it won't take flowers to make me think of her, I'll remember her always.
Cherish those who brighten your life,
Cathy

ReplyDeleteSaying goodbye to someone who touched our lives in a special way...is a difficult thing to do. What a kind tribute you gave to this dear lady. I just said good bye to my grandma and flowers will always remind me of her also. She had a big garden and loved having me help her cut flowers from it, for her dining room table. Once again I like your choice of music on your blog.
ReplyDeleteHow sad to lose such a great friend! But what a beautiful way to remember her as well!

Touching post and well done. Some of my friends and family have gone on ahead as well. I think of them as my deposits in heaven. They will all be there when I arrive. What a happy reunion there will be. Sharon
ReplyDeleteIt is such a wonderful blessing when a customer becomes a friend. We're lucky after 37 years of business at the flower shop to be able to say 'friendship is the foundation of our business'. Over the years it's nice to see a flower or plant and think of a someone who was dear. They feel closer somhow.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to have such dear feelings and memories of your good friend, Miss Till. I sorry to hear of your loss here on earth, but the Lord must have needed her as well.
ReplyDeleteHugs & prayers to you~ Birgit
