;( No Snow - but Ice instead!!

Well, from a distance it kinda looks like snow - but my friends, it is ice. Honestly, it is really pretty to look at but unfortunately, it is jus' not good for anything. I hate for things to be dangerous and that is what this kind of weather is for people. We have been fortunate here - it has rained most of the day - and that is a blessing - if it had fallen in a frozen state - a lot of those trees would be breaking now.

As you can see, the cattle don't seem to mind.

Every little piece of grass, every limb, the fence, the power lines - they look like glass.

Hope the lil' birds are toasty.

Anybody else out there "iced in" or "snowed in"? I know this weather situation is affecting many and is going to continue to do so over the next couple of days.

Everybody be safe - and if you got the snow instead of the ice - please jus' throw a snowball for me, o.k.

Safe Travels Everybody,
Cathy

  9. We are getting a mix, sleet and snow- it's our first measurable snow of the year - so of course the hubby and kids are outside sledding in it!

  12. We are expecting snow. My daughter commutes to college about a 40 minute drive each way. I hate when she has to drive in the snow! I know she does, too. The joys of winter! I love when it snows during the weekend.
I will toss a snowball for you!

  13. Cathy,

I know what you mean about the ice...it is beautiful, but I don't want it either! We're expected to get ice through the night.

  14. Its a shame that something so pretty can be so dangerous. I'm in SE Missouri and we got ice all day yesterday and now its snowing. We won't be going anywhere for sure. That's ok cause the pantry is stocked and the sewing machine is ready for action! :D

    Stay safe and warm,
    Debbie in Missouri

  17. Cathy, I love your kitchen! Snowball is adorable...so cute in the sweater. Last night when I looked out on our deck, a solid sheet of ice was forming and then it started sleeting. It was a winter wonderland when we looked out this morning...very pretty to look at but oh so slippery!

    Stay warm!

  18. Wow...that's pretty but I've been READING how dangerous all the ice is and how many people won't have power for weeks. Hope your power stays on. Down here in Houston, we're more worried about Hurricanes and floods vs. ice and snow. However, I LOVE ME SOME SNOW! Enjoyed your blog and will be back....just gotta love that cute puppy in the LIME GREEN SWEATER...PRECIOUS!
