Do ya remember?.....

....that old blue bed frame I bought on my "I hit the Jackpot" venture. Well, with a lil' elbow grease and my papaw's magic - here it is now!!!!!!

Isn't it so pretty! I think he jus' did a wonderful job. We painted it black and my sweet mamaw, Ruby covered it for me. Actually this is the fabric that I have my curtains made of in my bedroom - so it is really hard for me to part with this one. But it simply won't fit, otherwise, I think I'd simply have to keep it 'cause I love it!!!!

For those of you who'd like to try this yourself - it is real simple. Find a pretty bed that you like - you can find them at auctions, estate sales, "junk" stores - really jus' about anywhere. Simply use the side rails to marry the headboard and foot board together. Brace the seat with a piece of plywood being sure to put extra support underneath it so you won't have any sagging. Paint it in a color you love and simply cover the plywood using foam, your favorite fabric and a handy dandy staple gun (I couldn't live without one of these things). If you don't wish to cover the seat - you can paint it out and simply add throw cushions or store bought "bench" cushions. Another lil' tip - as you know, foam is extremely expensive - this piece on this bench pushing $50.00 - so that can be an investment all its own. However, check with your local carpet store to see if they have any scrap carpet padding - that has been left over from a job - see if it is available for sale (could get lucky and get it for free). Keep putting the layers together for the desired thickness. Just a lil' tidbit to make it more economical.

Anyway, I told you guys I'd share with you the projects as we got them completed - thought you might enjoy this one.

We had a splendid fall harvest gathering and I thank all of you for your well-wishes. I'll be sharing some pictures with you soon. Blessings to you all!!!

He's O.K.

Well, I think he is gonna be alright - this picture was taken yesterday before his lil' mishap but isn't he jus' the cutest thing. After three trips to our wonderful new vet, Miss Ange, she assured me she thought all would be o.k. in a few days. No broken ribs, which was our concern, just really, really sore - and his lil' lungs were congested from his impact. He only weighs about 4.5 pounds. But hopefully and thankfully, he should make a full recovery in a few days. He has layed around most of the evening - not his fun lil' self - but we are all looking forward to when he is back on his feet and runnin' around.

Thank you all so very much for such sweet, sweet comments. I was really feeling down 'cause I felt like it was my fault - I should have thought of him climbing the steps. Shows you I've never had a house pet before. So, I'm learnin' and I'm sure I have a lot left to learn - but we are all happy jus' to have him back home. Casen has loved on him and I think we are "all" on the mend.

Thank you all so much!!!!
Cathy Cobblestone and "Snowball"

Say a Lil' Prayer Please!

Well, I was going to start out this week by wishing you a Happy Fall since Autumn officially begins today - but the morning got off to a rough start.

Do you remember Casen's sweet lil' birthday surprise last week- his new puppy that he has named Snowball - well, he fell down our hard wood stairs this morning - :-( I rushed him to the vet and I think he his going to be O.K. - but please jus' remember that sweet lil' thing. He is in shock and they are watching him close for a few hours. No broken bones just making sure there is no internal bleeding. I feel so bad 'cause I had gone up the steps never thinking he would follow me - he hadn't done that yet. By the time he was half way up - I went to get him and he tumbled down landing on his back - unable to walk and barely breathing.

He's been here less than a week and we love him to pieces already. I hope I can bring him home safely before Casen gets home from school today.

I'm usually all about "Happy" posting - sorry I'm jus' a lil' scared about all this. I'll let you all know how he is doing - I'm gonna try and work on my newsletters today for our Fall Harvest - I hope I can stay focused!

I hope your week gets started on a more Happy Note! I truly do wish you always - a beautiful day!

What an Exciting Day!!!!!

Most importantly - my sweet sister, Stephanie, and hubby, Joey, welcomed another precious lil' boy into the world last night - meet Gabriel Dax, 7lb. 2oz., 20 inches long. He was a month early - but healthy and beautiful. He joins his big brothers, Dylan and Dawson. Love you Sis - you are an incredible sister and a wonderful mother!!!

Next, this was my lil' boy's 6th birthday!!! And this sweet puppy was his present from Shaun and I. He was so excited he could hardly talk - just completely surprised - it brought tears to my eyes to see him so happy. Casen hasn't named him yet - said he needed to think about it - so we'll see. But this is the latest member of our farm family.

And jus' like I promised - the drawing for the fall ornaments!!!! I wanted Casen to draw - but he had already gone to bed when I got back from the hospital - so Shaun did the honors. And the winner is........................

My friend, Cheryl - aka Tidy Mom!!!! Congrats!!!! I'll ship 'em to ya real soon!

Thank you all so much for all the many wonderful comments - I had never received that many responses before, so I was super excited. I truly appreciate the time you take to visit. Everyone is sooooo busy these days - so it means a lot to me that each of you stop by.

Wishing you all a Beautiful Thursday!!!!!

100th POST Fall Ornament Give-Away!!!!!

Oh my goodness friends!!!! I have been gone for a week - so sorry - I have missed you guys so much. Well, I had to have my computer worked on a bit plus just busy as a bee - but I'm back and so happy to be. Just as I promised - FALL ORNAMENTS - I'm gonna walk you through a few steps so you can make them at home with your kiddos, grandchildren, or hey - just for yourself. Plus for everyone that leaves me a comment - you'll be entered into the drawing for a set of 10 ornaments and a bag full o' candy corn bowl fillers!!!! This is my first give-away and I'm so excited! Hope you all enjoy!!

This is a picture of the finished ornaments - Now, this is how I make them but by all means - put your own twist on them. Make them your own - that's the fun part!

Candy Corn Ornaments before glazing... - I like to put antiquing gel on mine but if you like 'em bright - just leave 'em as is.

A few things you will need.... all-purpose flour, salt, water, wire cutters, wire, sticks (for pumpkin stems), toothpick, cooking spray, cookie sheets, paint, glaze, polyurethane

Now the recipe is that simple "salt-dough" recipe -
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. salt
1 c. water

Simply mix flour and salt together - add water - knead until dough forms (add a touch of flour if sticky, a touch of water if to dry)

I do not use cookie cutters but you could if you want. I simply use my hands - the more imperfect they are - the better I like them.

On the pumpkin, make a leaf and use water to bond the two pieces together. Take your toothpick to make the lines, insert twig for stem, insert wire and bake away.

Bake at 325 degrees for approx. 1 1/2 hours - depending on how "thick" you make them.

Once they cool, paint to your liking, spray with polyurethane and tie some cute ribbon on.

This lil' picture is of the candy corn bowl fillers as well as what I like to call my "boo buttons". These are being bagged in sweet lil' bags waiting to find a new home.

Hope everyone enjoys this simple lil' project - they are easy, fun, and a cute way to liven up a twig tree for the Halloween Holiday. When I get mine finished - I'll share a picture with ya.

Oh I almost forgot, we'll draw for the winner next Wednesday, my lil' boys 6th birthday!

Again, sorry to have been gone so long - I'll try and not do it again - ha ha.
Blessings to you all!

Welcome Fall!

Well, it's not here jus' yet - but it won't be long. As you can see - we are beginning to switch things over - changin' gears I guess you could say. Just so all my "locals" know, we have our mums, millet, asters and ornamental cabbage and kale ready to go. A couple of more weeks and the pumpkins and gourds will be just right for pickin' and I'll be pulling some more Indian Corn today - we've already started and it is beautiful.

Oh, and I haven't forgotten - I told you all I'd be giving away some fall ornaments and I'm gonna on the next post. That will be POST #100!!!! So it will be the perfect way to celebrate plus I'll give you the super easy instructions so you can make them at home as well! Sounds like lots of fun this week. Going to have to have my computer worked on this week - so if you miss me for a couple of days - that's why. But I'll be back - so check back to enter for your chance to win my first blog giveaway!!!

Everyone have a splendid start to your week!
Blessings,
