LOVE the pictures! Reminds me of this time last year when we actually HAD some corn! ugh...Our corn dried up before it did anything because we went too long without rain. Enjoy it! I'll be missing it this winter!
Fresh corn is one of my favorite summer foods, how nice it must be to have a little taste of summer come midwinter! Looks like you've been busy...Have a great day! Dee
Great pictures! Love that everyone is lending a hand and learning what it's all about! To many people forget just how it was originally done before there were packaging company's and grocery stores! Bless you~
Hi Cathy! Wow that corn look good! Here in Ohio corn is just comin in and some isn't showin yet! It's been soooo wet they got it in late. The Amish up near Hillsboro put theirs in back in March, but it's not as sweet as it shud be. There was some good corn up in Hamilton, Ohio, but they want $5.50a dz! There is a farm again up near Hillsboro that has good corn, but it's small this year. The kids sell it and eggs to make $$$ for their pocket money to use for Christmas. Soy Beans is the cash crop up around here. Again with the weather the fields either got washed out in some spots or they got a late start...they're crossing fingers the warm weather holds late this year. Do you all sell corn down there?
I'm so excited corn is on the menu tonight! I got some from a farm on my garage sale route and it was so fresh and golden. Nothing like you'd by in the store. God Bless, Heather
My corn hasn't even tassled yet...I can hardly wait! It looks like you have a lot of liquid in your corn. Do you cook it after you cut it?? I've always cooked the cobbs for a few minutes, cut it and then bagged it...not much juice. Would love to hear your method!
Yum, I can just smell the fresh corn now... Do you want to know something funny, well I am so weird that I only love corn on the cob not off the cob. I know such a silly thing, but I think it taste different LOL. You all sure were busy little bees. How cool it is that your son helped out. Have a sweet day, big hugs~Elizabeth
We've eaten a lot of local grown sweet corn this summer and are REALLY enjoying it. Just the two of us so I just buy a few ears each week. Looks like you will be enjoying corn all year long.. How nice!
Casen is sure doing a good job! Not sure my kids would sit still that long!
