Well, January is my "nesting" time. The shop is closed and it is about the only time all year when I have a minute to focus on something in my own home. Sooooo, of course I had to "change" something - I don't leave anything the same for very long. And since I do all the work myself - nothing is ever very expensive. A lil' paint, a lil' material, a lil' TLC - and everything feels fresh and new again.
So, here is my delima - I found some curtains at Lowe's that I liked but they were way to short. I don't usually buy store bought curtains simply because I like to piddle with sewing. Now, I'm no seamstress by any stretch of the imagination but I can sew to suit myself. Just don't go peeking underneath - it might not look very pretty - hehe.
About 10 inches to short...
Some corresponding fabrics...
And here they are... I really like them. Now, they look kind of custom. They still need to "soften up" so they will hang a bit better - but I think I'm gonna be happy with them.
I'll show you more pictures of my mini makeover later...if I can manage to ever get it finished.
Happy Monday friends,
Cathy
wow they turned out great Cathy....you are so clever...
ReplyDeleteJust perfect!
ReplyDeleteVery creative of you. I like the fix.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited - yesterday I picked up my grandmothers sewing machine to start sewing again. I haven't sewed in probably 30 years. I want to make a quilt and some curtains.
Very creative! I wish I could see things in my mind like that. I really like how the materials coordinate together. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job. I wish I could sew. Maybe I'll look into it. :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love it. Much better than just plain curtains. You gave it the designer touch!!

Those came out very nice. I am waiting for spring break to do some projects here at home. It involves painting a couple of ceilings and some trim. Not my favorite thing to do. I love to paint walls, though!
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy,
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing for my craft room, except with three different mix and match fabrics and I LOVE mu curtains! I think I did a post on it a while ago if you care to peak. I love how yours turned out and of course I love red!!!! Enjoy nesting time!

Nancy
