...'cause right now, I have to focus on this great guy, my husband, Shaun. Unfortunately he was hurt yesterday in a farm machinery accident seriously injuring his hand. Two hospitals and one great hand surgeon later - he is home and hopefully on his way to a full recovery. However, it is going to take quite some time to heal - but that's o.k. - we are so thankful - it could have been so much worse.
We are so appreciative to all those who have called and offered to help us - your kindness means so much. So we are gonna keep on plugging 'cause there is still much to do. So now he is on the sidelines giving me the instructions - we will see how that goes - hehe. There is hay to cut, pansies to be seeded, pumpkins to be fertilized, green beans to be picked, yards to be mowed - well, simply life goes on - especially on the farm.
My focus now is on his recovery and helping him "not worry" so much about everything else. So please bear with me if my posts are fewer and farther between - I know you'll understand.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers ahead of time. They mean so much.
Blessings,
Cathy

Oh Cathy, I am so sorry to hear this. I'll say a little prayer for your family tonight and wish your husband a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! Isn't it something how life can shift so suddenly, from one direction to another. Thankfully he has you to help him during this very busy time. I will be thinking of you as you tackle this together.
ReplyDeleteDH is in my prayers for a fast and full recovery. How scary it must of been for both of you. Wish I were closer and I would help you.
ReplyDeleteTake Care,
Debbie
Cathy,
ReplyDeleteMy prayers will be with your family. Just hang in there. God will see you through.
I am not sure if you knew it but my husband was involved in a very serious work accident Nov. 18, 2006. We were given very litte hope going into surgery that they would be able to save his arm. But several hours later he was wheeled out of OR to the ICU with his arm! God is good. It has been a long road but he has almost full use of it! The day at Ange's wedding when he walked out with her on his arm I almost lost it...just the thoughts of how close he had come for that to have never been possible. We are blessed.
Cathy, I do have this Sat. off, If there is anything I can help you with PLEASE let me know. I will be there in a heartbeat. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
Take Care my friend. God will see you through.

ReplyDeleteOh Cathy, I'm sorry! you know, about 6 years ago, my hubby fell off a ladder and broke BOTH wrists BADLY! He had emergency surgery - and external fixator, cadaver bone and our life was flipped upside down for a good 6 months - but you know, just like one of the nurses told us, one day this will just be a memory - you WILL get thru this....and we did!
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers to both of you!
Let me know if you need any thing or need to talk! - Steve couldn't do ANYTHING for him self since it was both wrists!

Jim & I will keep you both in our prayers. Jim was hit & run a while back while weed eating at the road in front of our lane. Broke the weed eater in 3 pieces & cracked his elbow. We know just what you mean by being thankful. He's an auto mechanic, so loss of the use his arm was pretty scary and plain frustrating for him. Do not rush it, take it easy, he says. You've got our e-mail..if ya need to talk..we're here. wish we were closer.

It's so hard when our hubby's go down. I will pray that he will be up and going but not before he's ready.
ReplyDeleteCathy, I can totally sympathise with you!!! Several years ago my husband got the tips of two of his fingers cut off. At the time, I was spending the summer up north in the kitchen at a youth camp - was suppose to be there for the balance of the summer ... it's hard (for them) to accept how many things they need help with, even little things like pulling up their pants.
ReplyDeleteMake a determination to let this pull the two of you even closer together - don't let Satan use it to seperate you!!!
This is what I stopped by for - " When I write or share something about one of my friends in a posting, I always make sure I send them a copy of it, so they know what was said about them. Today I included information about you and your blog site in my posting, so I thought I should let you know about it as well."
The above paragraph is the first paragraph in an email I sent out today, to all of the owners of blogs whom host "theme days", that I could find email addresses for. {But I could not find an email address on your blog.} I have decided that from now on the only ones I will do such for, are any new "theme day(s)" hosts I find, whom I can not find an email address for. Contacting so-o many of you this way just takes w-a-y to much time!!! If you wish to again be notified that I am including you in a list, then PLEASE send me your email address via - pinkbunnies (at) sbcglobal (dot) com. I hereby promise I will NOT be giving it out. Also, please put something about "theme days" in the subject line. Thanks!!
The rest of the email is what I posted today on our blog. Go to: www.xanga.com/thehousethatlovebuilt to read it for yourself.
Hopefully, it will then clarify of all of this for you ;-}
