It's gonna be 86 degrees here today so I'm preparing myself to hopefully see lots of people stirring in our greenhouses today. I'd say there will be veggie shoppers and definitely those looking for blooms to plant on this splendid weekend we are gonna have here.
I took this picture early this morning as the sun was beginning to peek through under the porch at the greenhouse. It's an old green metal drawer of some sort that I found out junking. Thought it would be perfect for flowers - even had holes already in the bottom of it - PERFECT. So it is filled with lavender bacapo, fuchsia begonia, shocking pink geranium, blue arrows grass, neon pink trailing verbena and a few dianthus tucked in. Course, it has a lot of "growing in" to do but I'm sure it will be pretty when it gets going.
Remember how I'm always saying to "think outside of the pot."
I'm wishing you all a beautiful, blessed and happy weekend!
Cathy
Cathy, you know you are living the life that a lot of people dream of. Enjoy every minute. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea!! I am trying to come up with little ideas like that for our backyard. I want a lot of recycled items, but am trying to avoid the junky look. Any suggestions? I plan on doing the hose wreath for my shed once it is all painted.... I just love your ideas!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so beautiful and healthy. Thanks for such a wonderful asset to "our lil' town"! You and many other hometown attractions definately make it "worth the visit". Have a BEAuitful Day!
ReplyDeleteKindlelight Blessings from your friend, Linda
Stacey - you are right - I'm very blessed and I try and not ever forget it even though I'm sure I do at times. There is great joy in doing what you love everyday - even though it may be the hardest work you have ever done (long hours that is). I'm so grateful for the opportunity I've been given and I hope I can share some of my joy with others. Thanks for your sweet words. Many blessings, Cathy
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that container with the gorgeous flowers!!! We hit the low 90's the other day. We have had fabulous weather all week but it is supposed to rain this weekend....that is fine with me cause we sure need it! Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

ReplyDeleteHey Cathy - check out my blog - you have an award.
ReplyDeleteI look forward each time to visiting you because your blog BRIGHTENS my day! Your arrangements and flowers planted "outside the pot" are just beautiful. Makes me start thinking of what I might have that can make a pot! Hope you had lots of visitors/BUYERS today on a beautiful day. I'm sure you did...wish I lived close to you!
ReplyDeleteDear Cathy Cobblestone,
ReplyDeleteI don't have your email, so I'm going to post this comment--I know you're too busy to take a phone call. Audrey just called and said that you liked your air freshener. If you are interested, I'm wanting to offer the "flowers" just for your shop - "an exclusive"--or at least for Kentucky shops. Please give me some constructive criticism so I can make this a quality product. Also, for spring/summer I need about 4-6 popular fragrances that you think would sell, and also for fall/winter. Give me a shout when you get a moment, and by the way, I love my flowers I got from you, and thanks so much for letting me borrow you baskets.
Blessings, from Linda @ Kindlelight Blessings

ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful!Do you sell your strawberries or do you grow them for the family?. We have several strawberries fields where I live, I love to buy them fresh picked. The fresh smell is amazing.
